Roscoe Brown Celebrates 10 Years in Tullahoma

At a time when many businesses are struggling just to keep their doors open, one local establishment is celebrating a milestone.

Ten years ago this month, Murfreesborobased Roscoe Brown expanded its heating and cooling business to Tullahoma, where it has been proudly serving the community ever since.

“We can attribute our growth to word of mouth and our resolve to doing good, quality service at a fair price,” said general manager Mike Hutchens.

That growth has included welcoming four other companies to the Roscoe Brown family, Manchester’s Clouse Heating and Air and MES Heating and Air, along with Tullahoma’s Allied Services and Slim’s Heating and Cooling.

Roscoe Brown, a third-generation familyowned company, offers a full array of heating and cooling services, as well as refrigeration and insulation. The company’s Tullahoma branch works with commercial and residential clients in Coffee, Moore, Bedford, Lincoln, Grundy and Franklin counties. The company’s service technicians, who all hold North American Technician Excellence certifi cations, are available to assist customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Hutchins said.

With winter right around the corner, Hutchins said now is the best time for homeowners to make sure their heating systems are up to snuff. As part of its anniversary celebration, the company is running a customer appreciation promotion, offering safety inspections and tuneups for $54.10.

“People really need to do those inspections to make sure they’re safe so they don’t get exposed to CO2,” Hutchins said.

Roscoe Brown is also ready to help those who decide now is the time to invest in a new, high-effi - ciency system.

“People don’t understand how much money they can save on new systems,” he said, listing federal tax credits and rebates from manufacturers and the state as a few examples of cost-cutting measures currently available.

In addition to the programs designed to lower the cost of purchasing and installing new equipment, Hutchins pointed out that modern systems are also less expensive to run. “You could save a tremendous amount of money in operating costs,” he said.

Hutchins, who has worked at the Tullahoma center since its opened, said he and the business’s other 14 employees are grateful to have been so well-received by the Tullahoma area.

“We’d love to thank Tullahoma and the surrounding community for 10 blessed years of growth,” Hutchins said.

Roscoe Brown is holding a free drawing for the installation of a new programmable thermostat, a prize Hutchins valued at approximately $200. To enter the drawing, stop by the office located at 410 South Roosevelt St, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to complete an entry form. The winner will be announced in early December. For more information, call 461-7441.
