Nationwide Energy Programs That Save You Money On A/C System Upgrades

Energy efficient appliance installations are a primary concern these days for residential, commercial and industrial locations alike. This is not only due to higher energy costs and operations costs, but also because of a growing environmental responsibility that is apparent from the leading government officials to the average citizen.

Some of the most beneficial programs to come from this new awareness are the national incentive programs, in the form of tax incentives, provided to customers and manufacturers. Air conditioners are some of the most energy-greedy appliances in homes and business settings, accounting for around two-thirds of an annual utility bill, though it is only used for half of the year. Air conditioners are a prime focus of incentive programs that include Energy Star ratings, the Tax Incentives Assistance Project and the Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program; all of these programs are federally-backed and quite effective for upgrades and new construction projects.

Energy Star Appliances

One of the absolute best resources for a variety of incentive programs is the Energy Star website, at www.EnergyStar.gov, offering an easy to use and search-capable platform. The Energy Star website provides direct information for current programs and qualifying AC units, both for the consumer and those in the construction or HVAC trades. The website also offers the ability to view available incentives by application, such as industrial, government, commercial or residential.

Department of Energy

The Department of Energy, at www.DOE.gov, is also a great outlet for current programs, as well as programs that are being extended or carried on indefinitely, of which there are several. The Tax Incentives Assistance Program is a prime example, having been extended several times to the present, offering programs for both consumers and manufacturers within the Home Heating and Cooling Equipment part of the plan.

With just a little research into what programs are available and for what particular air conditioning units, the costs of building, buying and installing these units around the world are being reduced. These appliances also reduce the average individual utility costs, as well as the overall demand for energy, on a very large scale.

At Roscoe Brown, we have a full understanding of the types of incentives programs that are available to you when thinking of replacing or upgrading your HVAC system.  Call us today and one of our friendly sales representatives will be happy to assist you in making the right choice for your home.
